Few animated shows have had such an impact on a generation as seamlessly as "BoJack Horseman" created by Raphel Bob-Waksberg has. The critically acclaimed series perfectly blended a mix of cathartic dialogue and satire, all whilst having the main character be a horse. This show proved over its 6 season run that it's not just another cartoon; it's an ode to the complexities of life.

The show's lead, BoJack Horseman, a washed-up actor and anthropomorphic horse, is a brilliant embodiment of existential crisis. His struggles with addiction, self-doubt, and loneliness resonate with viewers profoundly, making the show eerily relatable for being animated. Through BoJack we're essentially given a mirror of the grotesque masks we all wear to conceal our internal conflicts. Not shying away from tackling challenging issues, the show does not present a comforting narrative of redemption but exposes the raw and ugly side of human vulnerability, forcing us to confront the darkest corners of our minds.

However, what truly catapults the show to the pinnacle of storytelling brilliance is its exceptional ensemble cast. Characters such as Princess Carolyn and Mr. Peanutbutter aren't just secondary figures in the show, they serve as the very foundation upon which the intricate web of human relationships is woven. Within the world of Hollywood, meticulous design unfolds, using symbolic imagery and clever references. Each frame serves as a canvas and paints the foreground as if it's a character in itself that has its own layers.

In an era where anti-heroes are often admired for their complexity, BoJack stands out as a character we're consistently cautioned against admiring. Despite his challenging upbringing, his actions are inexcusable, and the responsibility for improvement lies solely with him. The problem is, that every time BoJack takes one step forward, it seems like he takes three steps back as well. In the end, it's safe to say we're all like BoJack in one way or another. He's relatable because many of us have been in his shoes.

BoJack Horseman will forever remain a masterpiece that has left an undeniable hoof print on our hearts.
